AI Readiness Assessment

Is your company ready to build with AI?

Answer eight questions about the task you want AI to do, the data it needs, the systems it must read, and who will own it. A clear task and usable data come first: without them, define the use case or fix the data before you build. With both in place, most teams are ready for a pilot on one workflow, and teams that also have system access, an owner, and review rules are ready to build. The assessment runs in your browser and sends no answers anywhere.

  1. Do you have one task in mind for AI?
  2. How would you know the AI works?
  3. Where is the information the AI needs?
  4. How current and clean is that information?
  5. Do you have real examples of the task done well?
  6. Can software read the systems involved?
  7. Who will own the AI system after launch?
  8. Do you know which data AI may use, and who checks its output?

How the assessment decides

Every rule is printed here, so you can check the number or redo it in a spreadsheet.

  1. 1Each answer is worth 0, 1, or 2 points. The total is out of 16.
  2. 2If the use case scores below 50%, the result is: define the use case first.
  3. 3Otherwise, if the data scores below 50%, the result is: fix the data first.
  4. 4Otherwise, a total of 12 or more with every area at 50% or above means: ready to build.
  5. 5Every other result is: ready for a pilot on one workflow.
  6. 6Each answer worth 0 points is listed as a gap to fix.

The work itself is on the AI product development page, and the longer explanation is in How to add AI to legacy systems without replacing them.

FAQ

Questions about the ai readiness check

What the number means, what it leaves out, and what happens to your inputs.

01What is an AI readiness assessment?

A short check of whether a company can build a useful AI system now. It looks at four things: a clear task and measure of success, data the AI can use, systems software can read, and a person who owns the result. A gap in any of them is cheaper to fix before the build than during it.

02Why do the use case and the data decide the result first?

Because no amount of engineering replaces them. Without one task and a measure, nobody can say whether the AI works. Without usable data, the AI gives confident wrong answers. Access, ownership, and rules can be built during a pilot; a missing goal or missing data cannot.

03What should we do if the result is ready for a pilot?

Pick one workflow, give the AI read-only access first, and test it on real examples against a pass mark agreed in advance. Use the pilot to close the gaps the assessment listed, so the next step is a production build.

04How long does it take to become ready for AI?

It depends on the gap. Choosing a task and a measure takes days. Collecting real examples takes a few weeks. Moving information out of email and spreadsheets into a system, or adding APIs to old software, can take longer and is often the first project.

05Are my answers stored or sent anywhere?

No. The assessment runs in your browser. Answers are not sent to Corpvance or saved. Analytics records only that a result was shown and which of the four results it was.
